This fishing fly is a brilliant variation on the classic gold ribbed hares ear. Olive is a major colour within insects that trout and grayling feed on. We have found the olive gold ribbed hares ear to be a cracking imitation of the pond or lake olive when retrieved just under the surface film. It is also a very successful imitation of many of the river nymphs particularly the up wing flies.
