The olive spider is a wonderful north country spider fishing fly and a great imitation for when large dark olives are on the water. As trout flies go, spider fly patterns are some of the most versatile as they will catch on both river and still water and are an excellent general imitation of many of the creatures beneath the surface film.
The olive spider is one of our favourite trout flies for when fish are feeding on the large dark olive just below the surface.
