Flies For The River Itchen

The river Itchen is a famous English chalk stream. The river flows for around 28 miles from Mid Hampshire through to Southampton. Along with the River Test the Itchen holds an international reputation as a fly fishery and anglers travel from around the world to fish it clear, rich waters. As a chalk stream habitat it has a wealth of aquatic life. Flies for the River Itchen will mainly consist of Olives, Caddis & Terrestrials. Many anglers who fish the Itchen will have a preference to dry fly fishing and on some beats there is a dry fly only rule, there are also plenty of opportunities to fish with wets and nymphs on other beats of the river. Our flies for the River Itchen will cover most eventualities and will stand you in good stead for a days fishing on this wonderful chalk stream.
