The Black Midge Klinkhammer Barbless is a superb, low-riding emerger for trout and grayling feeding on dark midges in the surface film. Its curved body hangs below the surface while the parachute hackle supports the fly and provides visibility.
Fish it singly on a leader during midge activity, using a drag-free drift on rivers or a nearly static presentation on stillwaters. Treat only the supporting hackle. Cover a rising fish with confidence and be ready for the water to open beneath the fly.
