The pheasant tail hares ear is a combination of two of the most popular fishing flies of all time - the pheasant tail nymph and the gold ribbed hares ear. On river or still water this fly will (in most circumstances) prove a a brilliant general imitation of the nymphs that the trout are feeding on. This is a "go to" fly pattern in our fly box when we are coaching and guiding on the rivers here in the peak district when the trout are on the nymph. Also known as Coves ptn.
Barbless fly.
