The Barbless Foam Eyed Daddy is a highly effective, buoyant crane-fly pattern with foam eyes, rubber legs and knotted pheasant-tail fibres. It can represent a struggling daddy long legs at the surface, but its buoyancy also allows it to be fished as a lifted attractor above a sinking line. It is equally at home on rivers and stillwaters.
On top, fish it static or pop it gently through wind lanes and along banks. For a bottom-up presentation, use a short leader on a sinking line so the fly rises above weed or the bed. Placed accurately, it gives you every chance of seeing a trout commit at the surface.
