The lady Meikleour Salmon double was designed by Claire Mercer Nairne on the banks of the river Tay at the Meikleour & Upper Islamouth beat. Claire wanted to design a new salmon fly, so I brought my fly tying kit along to lunch one day and we sat down at the top fishing hut. Claire came out with her stunning colour combination of this fly which was inspired by the red squirrels she see regularly bouncing around and the beautiful pink rhododendron which adorns the banks of the house pool. We hope you will like this all round season fly with its correct colours to attract a Spring Salmon and it is sure to be a big hit with the backend run fish.
Salmon flies are currently transitioning to synthetic Jungle Cock.
