The barbed humi snake booby is an awesome still water fly. The hook is a stinger hook which is at the rear of the fly. This means that trout following the snake and nipping at the tail will be hooked! The humi snake booby is deadly in colder weather when the fish are near the bottom. Fish on a heavy sinking line and a short leader of around 1 foot. This makes the fly pop up off the bottom. A very slow retrieve will tempt more lethargic fish in cooler weather. In warmer weather when fish are hitting fry near the surface these patterns can be popped along the surface on a floating line for some exhilarating top of the water action!
