By volume the river Tay is the largest river in the UK. The Tay rises on the slopes of Ben Lui and enters the seas below Perth. The Tay has some huge pools which are fished from boats to cover the water as well as some good bank fishing. There is no doubt the Tay is a big fish water with some huge specimens caught throughout the years. Fish enter the Tay system throughout the year meaning there is a good chance of Spring fish are certainly caught each year. There is a run or Grilse through the Summer. Late Summer and Autumn usually produce the best fishing.
