Pheasant tail nymphs are one of the most popular nymphs using the tail from a cock pheasant. Pheasant tails were first invented by Frank Sawyer. They have since evolved in to a wide variety of different flies which are amazing general limitations, especially good for the nymphs of upwing flies such as the large dark olive.
