The Puddle Buzz Blood Barbless is a superb, blood-red hybrid stillwater nymph that can be presented as a buzzer, bottom-dwelling larva or compact attractor. It is a bright attractor that is particularly effective for stocked rainbow trout. Its colour is particularly relevant to chironomid larvae, which can appear red because of haemoglobin in their bodies.
Fish it static beneath an indicator, twitch it close to the bed or retrieve with a slow figure-of-eight. Instead, use pauses to keep the fly in the chosen layer and to imitate the limited movement of natural midge larvae and pupae. Its colour and movement give it the presence to turn a following trout into a confident take.
