The Partridge and Yellow Spider Barbless is a brilliant, sparse soft-hackled wet fly with a yellow body and mobile partridge hackle. It suggests a small emerging nymph or drowned adult, with the yellow providing a useful warm-season trigger.
Fish it upstream through riffles, across-and-down on a controlled swing, or in a team of spiders. Allow a gentle lift at the end of the drift rather than forcing the fly through the current. An excellent fish catcher - the pull on a moving wet fly can be wonderfully direct.
