The Bibio Hackled Wet Fly Barbless is a versatile, traditional black-and-red wet fly for stillwater trout. Its palmered hackle provides movement and flotation in the surface layers, while the Bibio colours are associated with heather flies, hawthorn flies and other dark terrestrials.
Fish it in the ripple on a floating line, either singly or on the top dropper of a wet-fly team. Allow the wind to drift it, use a slow figure-of-eight or dibble it near the boat or bank. It is suggestive rather than a precise imitation. Its movement gives it the fish-catching appeal that makes wet-fly fishing so rewarding.
