The Bibio Hackled Wet Fly is a brilliant, traditional black-and-red palmered pattern associated with heather flies, hawthorn flies and other dark terrestrials. Its hackle creates movement and holds the fly high in the water.
Fish it in a stillwater ripple, often on the top dropper, using wind drift or a slow figure-of-eight. It can also be worked near banks when land-bred insects are being blown onto the surface. An excellent fish catcher - the pull on a moving wet fly can be wonderfully direct.
