The Beaded Hot Head Diawl Bach Barbless is an excellent, modern variation of the Welsh Diawl Bach, or 'little devil'. Its slim body suggests small midge pupae and other nymphs, while the bead adds depth and a visible trigger point.
Fish it on stillwaters as part of a team, allowing wind drift to move the flies or retrieving with a slow figure-of-eight. The bead also makes it useful on river glides where a standard Diawl Bach rides too high. Keep the retrieve controlled so the pattern retains its nymph-like character. Fish it through likely water and wait for the line to tighten.
