The Beaded Bloodworm Stalking Bug is an excellent, compact red stillwater pattern for presenting to sighted trout. Its bead gives controlled depth, while the flexible bloodworm-style body suggests a chironomid larva or creates a clear food signal close to the bottom.
Cast beyond a cruising fish and draw the fly gently into its path, or fish it beneath an indicator. Use small movements and long pauses rather than an aggressive retrieve. A lively pattern to reach for when you want to put a bend in the rod.
