The Beaded Black Copperhead Nymph Barbless is a versatile, compact dark nymph with a copper bead for depth and a restrained flash point. Its black body gives a strong silhouette, suggesting small nymphs and aquatic larvae in low light, coloured water or deeper runs.
Fish it beneath a buoyant dry fly, under an indicator or on a tight-line river setup. The bead makes it useful as a point fly or for reaching the lower part of the water column, but leader angle and current speed still control the true fishing depth. On stillwater, retrieve it slowly with pauses near weed and drop-offs. This purposeful pattern can quickly put a welcome bend in the rod.
