The Emerging Olive Buzzer Barbless is a midge emerger for trout feeding in the top few centimetres of stillwater. Its olive body represents the pupa as it reaches the surface and begins to hatch, a stage when the natural is trapped and especially vulnerable.
Fish it on a floating line, allowing it to hang in or immediately beneath the film. It works well singly to visible rises or on the top dropper above deeper buzzers. Use a static presentation in a ripple, or a very slow figure-of-eight in calm water. Takes may show only as a draw or hesitation in the leader.
