The Sedgehog Bibio is an excellent, buoyant stillwater pattern combining a Sedgehog profile with the black-and-red colours of a Bibio. It can suggest a caddis, heather fly or other substantial terrestrial while remaining highly visible in ripple.
Fish it on the top dropper, in the surface film or with a slow wake. It is particularly useful in breezy conditions when trout are looking upwards and responding to dark terrestrial shapes. This is the sort of dependable dry that can turn a quiet rise into a memorable take.
