The Moose Mane Spent Mayfly is a brilliant, spent-wing dry fly for the final stage of the mayfly lifecycle. Its long, slim body and outspread wings represent a spinner lying flat and exhausted in the surface film.
Use it during mayfly spinner falls, often later in the day, when trout are taking spent naturals rather than upright duns. Fish it singly on a leader with a drag-free presentation and minimal false casting. An excellent fish catcher - few moments beat watching a trout lift and take it cleanly.
