The Iron Blue Dun Barbless Size 14 is a versatile, classic British dry fly for hatches of Iron Blue Duns and other small, dark upwinged flies. Iron Blues can appear in cool, overcast or showery conditions, when their dark bodies and blue-grey wings are conspicuous on the water.
Present it upstream to trout and grayling on a fine leader, using reach casts or careful mends to remove drag. It is particularly useful on river glides and seams where fish are taking individual duns. A natural-looking fish catcher that deserves a place in any working dry-fly box.
