The Blue Damsel is a superb, stillwater damsel-nymph pattern with a blue flash trigger. Damselfly nymphs live around weed beds and margins, where their swimming movement and substantial size make them important food for trout.
Fish it on a floating or intermediate line with a slow figure-of-eight or short pulls and pauses. Concentrate on weed edges, reeds and shallow shelves. The blue flash adds attraction, while depth and restrained movement keep the presentation credible. Its colour and movement give it the presence to turn a following trout into a confident take.
