Catching With Caddis

The caddis fly is one of the most prolific flies in our rivers and lakes. Trout and grayling will feed on the adult caddis and the larvae all year round.

The first caddis hatch of the year is the Grannom which normally occurs in March / April time.

Different species of caddis will then hatch throughout the year through to the Autumn.

The larvae will be taken enthusiastically by trout and grayling throughout the year. Here are my go-to caddis patterns which I always have with me.
