The diawl bach fishing fly has become one of the most popular trout flies in recent years. It translates from welsh as "little devil".
The diawl back trout fly is a fantastic midge imiataion when cruising trout are feeding on midge pupa as they ascend to the surface to hatch. This is definitely a must have fly pattern for any still water angler however it is also a wonderfully successful fishing fly on rivers where unfortunately many anglers overlook it!
Midges are active in some form all year round and are present in nearly all rivers and streams in the UK so both trout and grayling will always be aware of them.
Diawl bachs are favorite fly of mine,fished on the breeze these flies catch fish.
