Beaded Gold Ribbed Hares Ear - Barbless

The barbless version of the beaded gold ribbed hares ear.

A classic fish catcher. A suitable trout fly for both lake and river, this bead head nymph is a wonderful general purpose nymph imitation. It will do a great imitation of most upwing nymphs and is a good imitation of the yellow may nymph. This is a must have fly pattern, used the world over.

As the name suggests the beaded gold ribbed hares ear or GRHE as it is often referred to is made with the fur from the ear of a hare. In our opinion these flies are best tied to be as "scruffy" as possible so the fibres move in the water suggesting legs and tails as on the real nymph.
